Earth Observation

Research Corner
With intention to inspire users to ingest earth-observation based datasets and geo-spatial analysis into their own research works, this section highlights some analytical and research work using these datasets. Particular attention is given to work that has used Global Agricultural Stress Index System (ASIS) datasets. We welcome submissions of new work in this area. Please send contributions that have at least been peer reviewed at the working paper level to [email protected].

ASIS near-real time (dekadal and monthly) datasets have been used regularly by FAO and other institutions/agencies for crop/grassland production monitoring.
For example:
GIEWS Early Warning Reports (GIEWS Updates, Special Alerts, CFSAMs Reports)    GIEWS Country Briefs (update at least 4 times a year)
FAO-WFP Hunger Hotspots (3 times a year)    GEOGLAM Crop Monitor for Early Warning (monthly)
ASIS annual and multi-annual datasets have contributed to various climate and social-economic studies.
